The 2019 Can-Am Maverick Sport X mr 1000R is Can-Am’s dedicated mud-ready sport side-by-side, built from the factory to conquer deep mud, water crossings, and the most technical wet terrain imaginable. The “X mr” designation — Xtreme Mud Riding — isn’t a badge; it’s a specification. Every key system on this machine has been engineered or upgraded specifically for mud performance.

At the heart of it is a 100 HP Rotax® 976cc SOHC V-twin fed by a standard snorkel air intake that keeps clean air flowing even when the body is submerged in muck. Power reaches the ground through a Smart-Lok™ front differential that can be fully or progressively locked from the driver’s seat, ITP® Cryptid 30-inch mud tires, and FOX® Podium independent suspension with 14.8 inches of travel front and rear. Engine & Drivetrain

The Rotax® 976cc SOHC V-twin delivers a broad, usable powerband with 100 horsepower — enough to pull hard out of deep mud holes and maintain momentum through technical terrain. Electronic fuel injection and liquid cooling ensure consistent power delivery regardless of ambient temperature or operating conditions. The standard snorkel air intake is a critical X mr differentiator, routing the intake tract high in the cab structure so the engine draws clean air even when the vehicle is partially submerged.

SMART-LOK™ FRONT DIFFERENTIAL — X MR EXCLUSIVE

The Maverick Sport X mr is equipped with Smart-Lok™, a driver-selectable front differential that can be fully locked, progressively locked, or run open — all from a dash-mounted switch while moving. Full lock mode delivers maximum traction pull to both front wheels simultaneously, essential for powering out of deep mud wallows where a standard Visco-Lok differential would spin a single wheel. This is one of the most important hardware advantages the X mr holds over base Maverick Sport models.

Suspension

The Maverick Sport X mr rides on FOX® Podium shocks front and rear with an independent double A-arm front and Can-Am’s proven TTA-T (Torsional Trailing A-arm-Terrain) rear suspension. Both ends deliver 14.8 inches of travel — enough to soak up hidden stumps, ruts, and embedded obstacles that lurk beneath the mud. All shocks are preload adjustable. The arched A-arm geometry maximizes ground clearance throughout the full suspension stroke for consistent obstacle clearance in dynamic conditions.

FOX® Podium Front Shocks

Independent Double A-Arm geometry with 14.8 in. travel and adjustable preload. Arched arm design keeps clearance high throughout the full suspension stroke.

TTA-T Rear Suspension

Can-Am’s Torsional Trailing A-arm-Terrain rear suspension with FOX Podium shocks, dual-shock setup, rear stabilizer bar, and 14.8 in. travel for composure over rough, submerged terrain.

15-In. Ground Clearance

Exceptional ground clearance — 2 additional inches over the base Maverick Sport DPS — gives the X mr the room needed to clear debris and navigate terrain features hidden beneath water and mud.

Rear Stabilizer Bar

Standard rear anti-roll bar reduces side-to-side chassis roll when traversing off-camber mud runs and side slopes, keeping both rear tires in more consistent contact with the ground.

Wheels, Tires & Brakes

No stock sport UTV comes better shod for mud than the Maverick Sport X mr. ITP® Cryptid 30×9-14 front and 30×11-14 rear tires on 14-in. cast-aluminum wheels are factory-fitted from the factory. The Cryptid is an aggressive mud tire with deep, widely spaced lugs that self-clean effectively as the tire rotates — keeping the tire from packing up with clay or loam. Dual hydraulic disc brakes front and rear provide progressive stopping power, and engine braking assists deceleration on downhills.
